Little Sister’s Story
After taking a few schoolmates to see her friend Sister Glamarama Ding Dong at Drag Queen Story time, and learning the history of Drag “families”, Isabel proclaimed “I want to be a Ding Dong!”
In October of 2018, Isabel was veiled, “Little Sister Queen Ciabatta Ding Dong”. She is the youngest member of the City of Fountains Sisters, the Kansas City house of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
Isabel has always expressed an interest in charity work and has been a life long member of the artistic and LGBTQIA community of Kansas City. Working with The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence was a natural fit for her and she has taken the new title very seriously. In December of 2018, Little Sister launched her first project, a toy drive, benefiting children at Operation Breakthrough and reStart, INC.

What’s your passion? So many passions! I would say my one true passion is beauty in all of its forms.
What do you do for a living? I sell dead peoples clothes! Haha! I own a store that sells vintage clothing. I also do make up and wigs for theatre.
What inspires you? Art. Beauty. Jewelry. Music. Fabric. Nature. Films.
What’s your favorite color? I love most colors. I however, detest maroon or burgundy. Shocking pink and most greens and blues make me happiest!
What’s your favorite season? Autumn. I love the leaves changing and the crisp cool weather. Autumn always reminds me of being a kid and walking to school for some reason.
What’s your favorite holiday? Christmas has the most sparkle but Easter comes in second because I secretly love bunnies.
What’s your favorite movie? Imitation of Life with Lana Turner or Mahogany with Diana Ross. It’s a tough choice!
What’s your favorite book? Memoirs of a Geisha
What’s your favorite meal? I clearly love to eat! I think my favorite meal is the full thanksgiving spread! Turkey with all the trimmings and don’t forget the cranberry sauce! It reminds me of being a kid and helping my grandma bake pies.
If you could be any animal, what would you choose? A polar bear. I love snow.
What helps you relieve stress? Old movies and gummy candy.
What do you like doing in your free time? What is this “free time” of which you speak?
What’s your greatest fear? Being misunderstood or misrepresented.
Who’s your favorite Disney character? The Evil Queen in Snow White
What’s your favorite childhood memory? So many. Meeting a real, actual artist that gave me a piece of his art and then showed me how he celebrates Hanukkah. I still have that artwork.
What’s your dream vacation? Paris during fashion week with unlimited access and resources!
If you were granted 3 wishes, what would they be? The gift of healing. Unlimited money without questions or recriminations. Being able to time travel.
What can you not live without? Alan and patchouli. In that order.
What’s a piece of advice you’d offer my generation? To remember that we all started out as children and though we are years apart we are all the same. I’d also say to my generation that listening is just as important as teaching! We can all share ideas!
How do you try to make the world a better place? With laughter and love. I just try to be the best sarcastic, cynical me possible! It seems to bring a lot of people joy.

What’s your passion? To find the moment in each day to empower people and myself to be their best self. To create with my full heart and to pay it forward.
What do you do for a living? I am the Artistic Director of The Arts Asylum
What inspires you? People who are driven, focused, and know how to balance all of the hats they need to wear. People who create un-apologetically.
What’s your favorite color? Blue. The perfect Navy Blue.
What’s your favorite season? Summer into Autumn. When its still warm, but at night you get a cool breeze.

What helps you relieve stress? Dancing around my living room and holding conversations with people that engage my mind.
What do you like doing in your free time? Making life an adventure and trying to experience things in different ways. My free time is a moment for me to do what fills my soul. It's difficult to rest and be still.
What’s your greatest fear? Being misunderstood and not knowing it, therefore effecting a relationship.

What’s your favorite childhood memory? Going around and having mini adventures with my mom, dad, and grandparents. We would make sure to grab the moment and fill it with something happy. Specifically, when we would travel to Estes Park, Colorado and spend the evening in a hotel with a pool. I thought an indoor pool was the coolest thing ever and saw adults acting like kids.
What’s your dream vacation? A world tour of every Disney park and while in those different places in the world, taking a day to explore that part of the country. Followed by a cruise from the US to Europe.
If you were granted 3 wishes, what would they be? 1. To show everyone what their perception is from the world so they can know if they are living their true selves. 2. To be without worry for money. 3. To know the truth about what happens after death
What can you not live without? Honesty in all aspects of my life
What’s a piece of advice you’d offer my generation? Stay focused on your dreams and don't let anyone tell you something is impossible.
How do you try to make the world a better place? By making sure everyone knows that I see them, that they have worth, and that they always have a place at the table to bring their thoughts and dreams. No dream is impossible. And to quote Walt Disney, "It's kind of fun to do the impossible."

What’s your passion? “So many to choose from… new looks that inspire others to push the boundaries of what they might think is proper, and going past those ‘socially acceptable’ boundaries”
What do you do for a living? “I am a transportation Operations Manager focusing on logistics for a large broadliner food service company that supplies an 8 state region.”
What inspires you? “Compassion, generosity, giving back to others and of course, The Sisters”
What’s your favorite color? “I love colors that I can’t wear, neon, fuchsia, golden yellow… But I stick to colors that I find peaceful like blues, greens, and earth tones. Though, my favorite color might be electric cobalt blue… the kind that jumps out and mesmerizes you, so that before you know it, you’re not sure how much time has passed because you were caught in its richness”
What’s your favorite season? “Hands down, Spring. And knowing there is a full 9 months ahead to bask in the warmth”
What’s your favorite holiday? “Halloween! Its when people are willing to really step outside convention and try something creative… they become extra creative and that energy is palpable”
What’s your favorite movie? “Hmmm… being a movie buff I have a ton that I love, Steel Magnolias, What’s up Doc, Gypsy, Mame, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Apartment… dozens of movie musicals”
What’s your favorite book? “Uncle Tom’s Cabin , and how it inspired the Thai people to stand up and therefore inspiring The King and I. I often find these common threads of history that tie into modern adaptations of a tale or story, like The Odyssey and O Brother Where art Thou or La Boheme and Rent.”
What’s your favorite meal? “My go to meal whenever I am simply too tired to bother with cooking is a simple pasta carbonara, but I will also never turn down a Broccoli Chicken Alfredo.”
If you could be any animal, what would you choose? “A really smart Blue Whale… to be able to explore the entire ocean”
What helps you relieve stress? “A massage… occasionally painting, drawing and gardening also.”
What do you like doing in your free time? “Binge on Netflix and spend time with my dogs”
What’s your greatest fear? Cockroaches... I can't stand them! They give me the willies... but perhaps my greatest fear is not trying something new or different in life due to living in fear of what others may think.
Who’s your favorite Disney character? All of the Witches....and Pluto.
What’s your favorite childhood memory? Spending time sitting on my grandmothers lap as i was waking up, rubbing my eyes to get the sleepers out of them and inhaling the scent of her perfume (Sweet Honesty by Avon) that smelled of lavender and the smell of her Aquanet that kept her hair in place.
What’s your dream vacation? One where I don’t have to pay!! Lol, seriously... I would love to just wander idly thru all of Europe and Russia.
If you were granted 3 wishes, what would they be? Toenails I don’t have to clip, to have the energy and body I had in my 20’s, and An endless supply of wishes so i could ensure my friends and family both chosen and given could be always happy and kept in good health.
What can you not live without? a good pair of boots.
What’s a piece of advice you’d offer my generation? Live your truth, your personal truth, not the one imposed on you by society and social norms. Take care of yourself always and always trust your gut when it tells you that something isn’t right or to remove yourself from a situation (or relationship or job) your gut will never lie. Your brain and heart will tell you a millions lies, but your gut feeling about something...that intuition, your sixth sense, will always be the right direction you need. Also, don’t take anything, especially yourself too seriously.
How do you try to make the world a better place? One day at a time. I try every day to make someone, anyone laugh, either at myself or at a situation. Laughter I have found is the best way to not only improve the world around you its also a great way to build lasting relationships and friendships.

What’s your passion? Being a mom, making art
What do you do for a living? Decorate cakes, make pictures out of chocolate, paint, sculpt, draw, perform, make costumes, dance, make art
What inspires you? My son

What’s your favorite holiday? Valentine’s Day, it’s my favorite holiday to decorate cakes for and I absolutely love the idea of a day of love and all the stores and everywhere turns pink to celebrate!

If you could be any animal, what would you choose? I love sharks, but that’s a hard life, too much like real life. If I could chose I’d be a cat who is loved and cared for by its human.

If you were granted 3 wishes, what would they be? 1. That all the people I’ve lost to death that I’ve loved could come back to life. 2. That when we died (all my friends and family), we could all die peacefully at the same time (so no one was left to be sad) 3. That everyone I cared about could always be happy
What can you not live without? My son...I mean I can live with him living somewhere else when he grows up, but I can’t live on this earth if he’s not alive on it too
What’s a piece of advice you’d offer my generation? In the end what truly matters is how we treat one another with love and dignity and our ability to form connections to each other , not things
How do you try to make the world a better place? Everyday be loving and encouraging to others. And be creative and follow my dreams, if you can do something you will inspire someone else to do the same! And when they start on that path be their support team and cheer them on! Because people are more loving and kind to others and more happy when they are following their dreams.

What’s your passion? I’m passionate about creating art that inspires people to live a life and express themselves true to their heart.
What do you do for a living? I’m a personnel supervisor with a big retail chain. It’s not the most glamorous of occupations, but it’s a paycheck.
What inspires you? I draw tiny sparkles of inspiration from all my experiences in my daily life. But anytime I’m in a complete creative block or I want to try something completely new, I turn to cirque du soleil. I draw tons of costume, makeup, all around visual inspiration from cirque. Also I dreamed of being a trapeze artist as a kid.
What’s your favorite color? I love red. Bright, attention catching red.
What’s your favorite season? Summer for sure. I love being outdoors and love to go hiking and camping and just spending time out in nature.
What’s your favorite holiday? I’m weird, because I really don’t make a big fuss out of my birthday or holidays. They’re just any other day to me.
What’s your favorite movie? The original Clash of the Titans, the one with the stop motion Medusa. Also, any classic musical could be an interchangeable favorite movie for me.
What’s your favorite book? I was in the generation that grew up with the Harry Potter books being released, so I love the whole series but the third book is my favorite.
What’s your favorite meal? Bread. Anything I can eat bread with. I’m a total carb-ivore.
If you could be any animal, what would you choose? I would want to be my favorite dinosaur, the parasaurolophus. It’s the duck-bill dino with the long crest coming off the back of it’s skull.
What helps you relieve stress? Creating new art, channeling my focus into working on new costumes, headpieces, and things.
What do you like doing in your free time? I love to go browse thrift and antique stores. One mans trash is my treasure!
What’s your greatest fear? I’m really scared of letting other people down. I tend to really stretch my own limits and try and do things all by myself instead of asking other people for help. Because I’d rather fail on my own instead of fail and let the people who helped me down.
Who’s your favorite Disney character? I love Mulan. She’s beautiful, powerful, independent, and driven. Also she has the best songs.
What’s your favorite childhood memory? Growing up my whole family was involved in the local community theater, so tons of childhood memories revolve around the theater, being in shows, attending rehearsals for shows my parents or brother were in. Just living in the theater.
What’s your dream vacation? Backpacking through Europe. Eating all the foods, seeing all the history, soaking in all the art and culture.
If you were granted 3 wishes, what would they be? Financial security, to have the power of teleportation, and to have a magic closet that grew to accommodate how ever many clothes and costumes I need it to hold.
What can you not live without? Mt dew code red. I know it’s terrible for me, but it’s my elixir of life.
What’s a piece of advice you’d offer my generation? If something interests you and it makes you happy... don’t ever doubt yourself or listen to societies peer pressures. Dress how ever makes you happy, go play whatever sports you enjoy, take up any hobby that makes you happy. Don’t let people try and shame you into following gender norms.
How do you try to make the world a better place? I dress up like a crazy glamour clown and dance like no ones watching. As long as I’m having fun and smiling, it doesn’t matter if you’re laughing with me or at me. At least you’re laughing.
